I desperately need a program that will allow me to play Steam ( Counter strike online ) using a Mac. I know winex is one, Is it free? Or there any other ways besides selling my beloved mac and buying a P.C?

P.S I do not want to buy a Console.

Not going to happen. Find someone throwing out a P3 era system, it will play CS fine. Or drop down 400 for a new system, build one yourself etc...

Half Life is not for Macintosh, CS is not for Macintosh. Therefore it would be completly pointless to port Steam to Mac OS X.

IF (and this is a HUGE IF), Sierra/Valve/whoever calls the shots now, decides to bring Half-Live over to the mac it will be HL2. HL is ancient, and the only reason people care is the game play of CS is so good. Once HL2 comes out expect CS to slowly die as more and more players move over to the HL2 engine.

Look around people are throwing out perfectly good systems that are capable of playing CS.

E3 reports indicate that an updated CS will be packaged with HL2. Same game play but running on the Source engine.

Winex is for Linux. There is no Mac OS X version.

Rumor has it Virtual PC 7 has greatly enhanced support for games. It might be able to play Counter Strike.

Like the others said, pay $100 for some Pentium 3 and play Counter Strike on that.

IF they were to port anything they'd port the original Half-Life. A lot of companies only port games that have outdated source codes (think battlefield, they waited till BFV was out on the PC to bring us BF for mac). They don't care if the code is ancient or if we're the only ones still playing, as long as their precous HL2 code is safe.

You would think if they ported it, it probably would have been the time when it was almost complete and not just ditching us.

They aren't going to port HL, trust me.

What guidelines? The only guidelines I read relate to images.

I've had my sig for a couple of months yet you are the first one to say anything about it.

May be only 4 lines, but it looks like you're responding to a post. Just turn the thing into text.
