Yer takin' way too long with Duke3D and UTPG. Please don't announce these things a year or more in advance next time. Thx.
"This is done out of good will" and "don't complain, it's free" just doesn't cut it. I'll gladly fork over some money if Ryan moves his ass and gets these ports done and over with. Really.
Duke3D was apparently very close to being released almost a year ago. UTPG probably wasn't but so I can forgive this one not being done. I know Ryan has bigger priorities and paying projects but ... like I said, I'd pay for these ports.

Yep, it's a shame that Ryan never got UT for MacOS X done. My guess is we'll never see it.

I saw a working Duke3D build floating around months and months ago. Get the source and compile it yourself.

Well, I was actually referring to the Duke3D comment above. If I had the code it would be yours mind you.
My point still stands... whining publicly to a guy to hurry up and release a product that he is doing for free is useless... if the dude was ready to release the product, it would be done. Telling him to "move his ass" serves no purpose.
Cheers!
James
p.s. If you ever get the UT code, make sure you "move your ass" to port it!

Not to mention, Ryan Gordon is a great asset to the Mac and Linux gaming communities, and he continually works his ass off. He just tries to do too much.

The thing is he gives the Mac gaming community unrealistic expectations if he says he's going to do it and he never releases anything. I understand he's busy, well then don't say your gonna work on it.
And by the way, it's not a simple port. Certain things won't work in OS X and have to be replaced, and he's added other improvements. But it would have been nice if he had delivered something...

Try it on a G5 or any currently shipping iBook, eMac, iMac, or PowerBook.

I was a little harsh. Ryan can take his time on it. Afterall, I've waited for almost 5 years for Return to Dark Castle and I'm still waiting.
I love to see old games get ported to OS X. Makes me feel like I'm not missing much not using OS 9 anymore.

He said he worked on it, and that he intended to release something, if he got the job done. He never said anything about "UT in X months!!! WOOOT!!"
