Hello all Neverwinter nights fans. I am thinking of purchasing the game, but have a question regarding it first. Are there any good PW that don't require all of the upgrades, IE can I only purchases the mac version an play?

I think they all need at least the first expansion but here is a list of some of the worlds that are out there.

Ant tricks to running the pc expansions on my Mac? Or just throw 'em in and let 'em rip?

[CRABBY]
so the Mac versions of SoU and HotU should be shipping any day now, if they haven't shipped already. Does anyone really care? Boy, did MacSoft drop the ball on this one or what? Seems that all MacSoft really needed to do is write an autoinstaller for the modules, seeing as how the PC versions work on the Mac. Maybe fix some bugs. Generate a little pamphlet with installation instructions. So they wait until every Mac Nwn player has bought the PC expansions, then they say "Hey, let's release the expansions!" Next they'll sit around and bemoan the fact that the expansions sold for crap, and that it's so hard to be profittable writing games on the Mac, yatta yatta yah. Ffffffft!

I'm sure it's all much more complicated than that... it better be. Sure seems like MacSoft had easy money staring at 'em with SoU and HotU...

To answer the original question, there are very few PW's which do not require one and/or both of the expansions. There are a handful out there, but I think you will have to be lucky if one of them matches your idea of what a good PW is.

I'd start saving for the expansions.

Hi,

I'm fairly new to macs, and am going to be ordering a powerbook soon.
This news is great, and means I should be able to play on my favourite server on the powerbook. However, is it possible to use windows updates as well, considering the server I play on uses the most recent patch?

Well I have both the expansions on my Powerbook & it says it's version 1.62.8047. Is there a newer one than that?

Looking at the NWN website, it would appear that your version is up to date, and they offer mac versions of the update. It's all good

The Nwn Auto Updater works quite well, if you haven't tried it. It also installs the PC expansion packs for you.

I was shocked when -Q- 'splained that the PC expansions would load and play just fine on a Mac. What a deal! Been playing 'em both without a hitch ever since.

Highly recommend the nwn auto updater. Makes life much easier.
