I am trying to find games for my 4 year old granddaughter to run on an old Power Mac 6500, that runs OS 9.1. I have a really nice Elmo coloring game, but would like to find a few more. There are plenty of games for the newer OS X systems, but not very many for little kids using OS 9.1. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thank you.

Older versions of the Jumpstart and Reader Rabbit series will run on your machine, no problem. In fact, it was a source of frustration for my son that most of those games stopped working under OS X.

Disney has several "storybook" titles (I have the one for Toy Story) that will work as well. You just need to start prowling the used section of your local independent Mac software vender.

The two Dora The Explorer games are pretty good. Dora's Backpack Adventire and Dora and the Lost City. They run great under 9, but suck under 10 in classic mode.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

I agree, the Reader Rabbit and Jump Start series are wonderful, and can be had for short money. Check out sites like softwareblowouts.com...they routinely have kids' stuff for cheap dollars, enjoy!
