I want to make an image of Worms 3D, which is on a DVD.

I tried making an image using Toast and Disk Utility, but mounting these drives doesn't convince the game that the DVD is actually in the drive (which it isn't).

I'm not sure if burning this image will work, since I don't have a blank DVD-R right now.

Is there any way to ensure an identical, bit-for-bit copy of the original DVD?

Is there any way to make the game believe that the mounted image is actually in the DVD drive?

The motivations for this are:
1) I'm definitely going to either lose or break the DVD somehow. I'm paranoid, and I love Worms

2) It's annoying to have to physically put in the DVD and eject it when I want to put another CD/DVD in the drive.

3) On a laptop, I'd rather not use the DVD drive when not absolutely necessary.

Thanks

I made a copy of my Call of Duty DVD with Disk Utility. Made a disk image, then burned it to a blank DVD, it works sweet. I know you'd rather not have to put a disk in the drive, but at least this way you're covered if you ruin the DVD (I have kids, something I worry about constantly).
