anyone do online gaming strictly on wireless? I tried a bit ago and the lag I suffered prompted me to hardwire my gaming machine permanently. bad results all together, only had about 3 out of 5 bars on the signal I guess. If I had 5 out of 5 bars would I notice a difference?

Was thinking about going totally wireless now that I can extend my wireless with the new airport express.

I've played warcraft 3 frozen throne and Unreal Tournament 2004 exclusively on wireless, about 4 bars and it works great. 5 of course is optimal but when i get 4 bars i still get great gameplay. Also, i am part of the world of warcraft beta and am using wireless and it runs great as well.

i never have problems with lag on my wifi network. if you think its the wireless, try pinging your router. i ususally get a ping of 33 in halo, and 10 in quake.

The wifi speed is no problem at all with online gamging, unless you plan to host a server. On my Airport network I get a ping of 0-5 in Quake 3. No lag whatsoever. I can have 4 computers playing FPS games online at the same time before ping gets effected.
