Well my friends and I are tired of playing the base maps over and over again and are looking to add new maps to Generals.

Anyone have any luck getting custom maps to work on a mac?

http://www.generalsmaps.net/ has some nice maps but they don't show up in Generals.

Any help?

Make sure that they are maps for Generals, and not Zero Hour. The maps should be placed in the /User Data/Maps/ folder.

Wow, i5works as in the people who worked on Generals?

well to keep things simple I went to the EA website to check for info after going to Aspyr's website and I found some extra maps on the EA website and downloaded the Generals version of Forgotten Forest.

Included in the zip were two files: ForgottenForest.map and ForgottenForest.tga

I put the .tga file in [path to generals]/User Data/MapPreviews/ and the .map file in [path to generals]/User Data/Maps/

I opened Generals and went to Multiplayer then Create Game and then looked for Forgotten Forest in Official and Unofficial Maps and its not there. I also tried renaming the .tga to look like the others in MapPreviews: maps_ForgottenForest_ForgottenForest.tga and yet still nothing in the game.

I do have the lastest patch for Mac installed.

hey, im the friend he is trying to get these maps to work with. i tried putting the maps in the /maps and the image in the map image folder, as well as making a new folder for the map file and image in the /maps folder, both without any luck (a site said to do this, it was for windows version but figured it may be similar).

they are not for zero hour (is mac going to get this expansion, or do we have it?), and they do not show up AT ALL in the map list for unofficial maps.
Girls may come and go, but a guitar is forever.

Forgotten Forest worked for me. Unzipping the archive gives you a folder named 'ForgottenForest'. Place that entire folder, as is, into the /User Data/Maps/ folder.
