i was searching through here wondering what people have said about everquest, and the few hits i did find were people trying to start discussions about it and other people knocking everquest. geez, one guy asked if he should buy everquest and people pretty much said it sucks wait for WoW. im not commenting on WoW, since i havent played it, hopefully they have shaped up and wont let it fall to the fate all their other online games have. blizzard is just as bad as sony about patches and the like, like them taking 1 year to patch diablo 2 which fixed an OLD problem with playing it in osx under opengl. then again, as i said, they might have changed and will keep WoW properly maintained.
on the other hand, what is the big anti-everquest deal here. the game is 5 years old sure, but its had expansions and less than 1/3 of the game is that old. mac version has 4 expansions (up to october after last, when PoP released) and there is lots of talk about fixing and updating the game to close to where the PC side is.
im not trying to promote everquest here, or say that everyone should go and try it, but do we really need people commenting on how it sucks (have you even played it???) and how WoW will be so much better? seriously, very bad first impression when i come to a site and see this kind of crap.
if you know someone who has everquest, and youre into those types of games, give it a shot, its a pretty fun game (takes a lot of commitment though). ill probably play WoW when it comes out, but its likely i will stick with my guild on everquest instead.
