I'm hoping my fellow mac users can answer me an easy question. A buddy and I want to play some CoD online, and before I buy the game, I am wondering if the mac version is fully compatible with online play with the PC world. Are there any multiplayer issues that I should be aware of?

Secondly, I just got a new g5, and the XIII demo refuses to run. I install it and I can launch it, but it quits right after launch. Any advice? TIA

Same deal with Soldier of Fortune 2. Is it online compatible with the PC community?

The Q3 engine games you mentioned are Mac/PC network compatible (most Quake3 engine games are as long as the versions match).

As far as XIII, did you download the 1.0.1 demo? Do you have a GF FX 5200? If the answers are No and Yes, then download the 1.0.1 demo. It's suppose to fix an issue with the GF FX 5200 cards.

Call Of Duty does do multi players with the pc side, just have to patch it up to the pc version. Right now I think they're both at 1.4.

Yes, but the Mac 1.4 update is still only a beta.

But, yes CoD and SOFII both play with PCs just fine.

And, as already mentioned, you probably need to get the 1.0.1 version of the XIII demo.

CoD 1.4 for Mac is indeed a beta, but I haven't had a single problem with it. Everything's running smoothly and I'm playing online games just fine.

Yep, same here.

By the way, have you seen any weird stuff going on with names just randomly being renamed to jumbled versions of the same name?

Something like THIS?

I can't determine if it's the 1.4 beta patch, or some of the mods I'm using... one person has suggested that it might have something to do with PunkBuster...

Just curious...

well actually I have seen that since 1.3
The names would rapidly change but eventually return to normal at the end of the rapid sequence. However it wasn't until i started playing HoB till it stayed permanent (changing CaesarTaco to seaCaTraco, as you know).
