I haven't received my copy yet, but have been playing on PC for a while.
Here's what's come out so far:
Macologist Installers for mods
Add more info as you please. Also, playing off the hard drive info would be great (PCs have the Game Drive manager, which is fairly convenient.)
....
And I wish I could spell.

Now, can anyone tell me how BF1942 would run on an 800mhz G4 with 32mb GeForce2mx and 768mb RAM?

A couple of things:
1. Apparently you don't have to download the files from macologist. For example, you can download the DC mod from fileplanet, or a mirror, that has much more bandwidth available than macologist. This works if you have a PC handy. Extract the files on the pc, zip them up, move them to the mac, and unzip to the DesertCombat/Mods directory. It would be nice though, if someone would mirror the macologist files. It's a lot easier using their installers...
2. I've experimented with the DC mod (version .7). About half the time I get a 'Failed to Connect to Server' error when trying multiplayer. After that, the game is unstable and usually crashes. Has anyone else experienced that? I'm not sure if this is specific to using the mod or not. If I do get connected, game play is exactly as it should be. Runs great on my Dual G5, even with the low-end video card.

The only crash I had was when trying to load a map of DCX in single player. As for DC, it performed the same as the PC version, on and off line. No connection issues, nothing.

Those network issues (and subsequent crashes) I was experiencing were apparently caused by my Vonage (IP telephone) box. I had the Vonage box between my cable modem and my firewall (the prefered configuration, according to Vonage). After moving the Vonage box behind the firewall, so that all my IP traffic isn't pushed through it, the connection problems went away completely. I had experienced similar problems on the PC side, but never as frequently.
Anyway, BF1942 on the Mac with the DC mod is playing beautifully.

Here are some helpful hints in this thread:
http://insidemacgames.com/forum/view...c&start=60
--kept distance viewable down, settings to low.
--Also, download and place this file in your Battlefield 1942/pb/ folder
--You can move your movie files out of your Movies folder to speed up launch time. Just put them in a Movies_old folder or something similar, if you wish to keep them.
--I've also run it off of a Toast image on my PowerBook.
Short of a .release from the developers, that's all the tweaking I've come up with. Happy Battlefielding!
