It was a game created by developers by the name of Syzygy Cult (or some slight variation of that word).

You could choose between a fighter, an elven archer, a woman magician, and some sort of martial artist (if I remember correctly.) It was a top down view game with somewhat interesting cheesy and cartoony graphics.

If I remember correctly, you started in a room that allowed you to teleport to different parts of the world.

To control your character, you'd rotate him with certain keys and move him forward in that direction.

But if I remember correctly, the big aspect of the game was network multiplayer.

I'm not talking about Gauntlet or Minotaur.

So far so good but I don't remember the name of the game being Mantra.

edit: definitely not Mantra or Mantra II.

Also, I'm not talking about TaskMaker (which was another excellent game.)

Maybe it wasn't Syzygy Cult.

Wow? Nobody? If I were to guess the name now that I've had time to think about it, I'd say Prince of Destruction. I'm pretty sure people referred to it as POD.

Sweeet!

Yes, I remember a Prince of Destruction. It was sort of a demo for the engine used to make it. Fairly easy, as I recall.

Yeah...the MARS engine. Too bad I never saw any game come out of this (other than PoD). I wonder if the developers still use Macs.

PoD actually plays fairly well under Classic. And I never tried this new version before. I don't remember it having music.

Man, this MARS engine would have been so great if the developers kept working on it.
