Ok, I've been very patient about this, but now I want answers:
Apeiron X...is it coming or not? No need to tell us if it's getting a huge overhaul or if speed issues have arisen, just tell us if it's coming or not.
PoG and Coldstone...I know this one is kinda out of your control but they're published under Ambrosia and you should make en effort to contact Beenox and ask them if an update to PoG and Coldstone are in the works for 10.3. If you have, you should probably publicly state what's going on or at the very least update your site so that people aren't misled by the requirements (maybe explain that PoG doesn't work on 10.3).
How can Beenox have gone through so much trouble releasing dev tools and PoG and not continue improving it and fixing bugs? I need answers.

Are you sure Moki's checked this forum in the last two days? And are you sure he owes you an explanation for how their dev process is going? Hey, I remember finding Ambrosia ten years ago, socking away time at Chiral and Swoop. I've spent more hours with the Escape Velocity series than I'd care to catelogue. And I also think it's disappointing not to have seen releases from them even in the general-recent past.
I have to think, though, that Moki's core interest is seeing games released. I mean, he's President of the company, right? I would expect him more than anyone to be interested in putting out new games; he's got bills to pay like everyone. It's got to be tremendously frustrating to try to work with developers who don't get the job done, and it's got to be tempting to air that frustration publicly. Ambrosia also has a vested interest in keeping a good public image with developers as a whole, so that they can keep finding people to work with to keep putting out games.
I think I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think this is worth taking so personally. Plenty of other games to help keep those twitch reflexes honed.

Yep, it sure is. I just played it today actually. For the most part, we're waiting on artwork (we're doing the graphics to be 16 bit, and at 800x600 resolution).

Beenox has expressed disinterest in updating Coldstone; so we hired an intern to work on it for the past 6 months. Unfortunately, that intern was not skilled enough to make much headway.
We've since hired another programmer who, after working on a major WireTap revision, will be focusing on Coldstone. I don't want to make it look like no progress was made on Coldstone over the last 6 months -- many editor bugs were fixed -- but the engine was beyond our intern's capabilities.
I should also note that a large source of the issues with Coldstone stem from REAL basic -- for quite some time, through a number of versions of REAL basic, the Coldstone editor would not even compile. In theory, REAL software has fixed these issues.

I think you're under the mistaken belief that I saw this thread, and did not answer it. You're wrong. I did not see this thread until someone pointed it out to me. If you really want an answer, emailing someone at Ambrosia or posting on our web boards is a better idea than posting on a third party web board where your thread may or may not be seen.

Glad to see you're still the same old you.
And no, Redline has not been in development for 5 years. Far from it. I'd give you exact dates, but clearly you're not interested in that, so I won't bother.

My apologies.
Thank you for the timely response (I was unfair with the time expectation for your response.)
I'm really glad to hear Apeiron will be getting an graphics update that will make it more OS X-ish (higher resolution).
And I'm really glad to hear that someone is working on Coldstone. But Beenox disinterested in their own creation boggles my mind. I can't believe how quickly they dropped support.

I'm wondering why Coldstone wasn't done in OpenGL....
OpenGL isn't extremely hard once you get the base engine done. Obviously you don't need Quake 3 level graphics, but it wouldn't be that hard to do.

Coldstone has been in development for years, way before Ambrosia.

And only in public forums? Simple personal email to the person or company won't suffice? That's pretty sad...

In my experience, I've noticed that these are not as effective as getting a big crowd riled up on a public forum. Of course...the crowd wasn't very big here and maybe wasn't an influence factor at all but, it's really easy to reach someone through public forums...and not through e-mail.
Ryan Gordon ignores all my mail. Not once have I gotten an answer from him.
Zach Morris and Zack Black don't answer my e-mails either.
Do you have a special trick a2daj? Or should I just take your word that e-mail is the best method to reach someone?

Wow this thread got derailed fast...anyone else want to throw their 2 cents about me?
A special thanks goes to a2daj for really keeping the thread way off its tracks. Keep it up little buddy...I'm proud of ya.
On-topic:
Now everyone knows what's going on with Apeiron X and Coldstone instead of it being kept super secret to everyone and locked away in moki's office except to those that send an e-mail to him. I don't even think most people on the Ambrosia forums know what's going on with those 2 products judging by the posts over there.

Derailed? It started as slander and defamation and that's where it's stayed, only the subject of said defamation has changed

Here's a little video I just recorded of me playing Apeiron X. Don't worry, that background (and other graphics in the game) is not final; it's too busy, we'll be replacing it:

Is Aperion X being developed in-house? I don't want to jump on any kind of "beatdown on Ambrosia" bandwagon since I own many of their games, but it seems that they have had terrible luck with the game developers they sign on. Back when they actually wrote their own games, things seemed to be better. Yeah, it still took forever for stuff to come out, but I think it just seemed that way because they were more involved from the start than almost any other game company.
Now, all the problems seem to center around other companies, not Ambrosia itself. Beenox has dropped Coldstone, making Ambrosia look bad for not having Panther compatibility ten months after Panther's release. It's been a full year since the release of EVN for Windows and there still hasn't even been a basic bug fix, which of course is Contraband's fault but reflects poorly on Ambrosia. And I remember the large number of bugs and problems in Uplink when it came out a while ago, which are of course the developer Introversion's fault, not a problem with Ambrosia Software. Is it just bad luck or poor judgment, or something along those lines? Because I don't believe that Ambrosia is just a bad company. I've been a customer of theirs since I bought the original EV in 1997, and since then I've also bought Mars Rising, Ares, Deimos Rising, and EV Nova.
So don't think I'm trying to attack anyone here. I know games take a long time to develop but in some of these cases they seem pretty ridiculous.

If they're Mac specific problems, then I don't think it's Introversion's fault. I think a (-n ex-?)Contraband employee (Chris Jacobson) worked on the Mac port.
