can you play angainst windows users? or only against other mac users when you are making a lan server????

AFAIK the multiplayer is fully cross-platform.

Battle.net (the online service that Blizzard uses) is completely cross platform as well as free.

Yes, you can play with windows users on battle.net and on your local LAN.
