Hardly surprising considering the Sims serie is probably the best selling game on Macintosh ever. It would be stupid to even think of thinking of not doing a Mac port. I've never actually played the Sims but I've seen it played by a few people and it did look quite interesting. It's also one of the very rare non-violent commercial video games out there.
The screenshots (well, they've been floating around the web for sometime now) look really good.
I just hope it comes sooner than later. Doom 3 is already at least 4-6 months behind on Mac...I hope they've already started on Sims 2 for Mac and that it'll ship 1-2 months after the PC version.
Blizzard has a nice article on simultaneous PC/Mac development. I hope some companies have a notepad and pencil in hand.
