Background:
I love non-real time strategy games (Civ et al).
I hate real time strategy games (Warcraft et al).

So I see this cool new strategy game listed on the MacNN front page called "Republic: the Revolution". Sounds great! When I get to the site, I'm looking all over to find out: real time or no? The only clue I get is the blurb about how their great graphics engine can render so many polygons in real time.

This is the case for just about every game vendor site I go to. The only way for me to find out if I'm interested or not is to glean little bits of info from odd corners of the vendor site.

Am I the only one that thinks this is an important distinction?

That Republic game looks very odd and different.

I think it's more RTS than it is FPS.

Aspyr makes a lot of non-RTS games... check their site to see what looks interesting to you. They have good screen shots and game info.

what are you going on about? obviously the guy meant he likes turn-based strategy games and not real-time strategy ones. At exactly what point does first person shooters enter in to that?

Huh!?

The game looks like a combination of a RTS and a FPS. That is where first person shooters enters into it...
