Well, lets say hipotheticaly my friend who uses windows just downloaded the HL2 (which would be illegal im guessing to play), and lets say that he tried it out with me. The graphics are not as good as Doom3, gameplay is nowhere close to as fun, aiming is anoying, especialy when you use zoom, and shooting enemies is no fun. only thing that is fun is the realisting thing about how you can move stuff, etc. and how everything falls real cool, and its not even that fun... so!! wohooo!!! we are getting the number one game that will hit the shelves!!!

...uh-huh.
I wouldn't make a judgement of any game unless you're unsing the final release. I downloaded the Doom III Beta and is doesn't look good at all. The driver support is apparently not very good, and it will only run at 640x480.

Maybe you should look into "owning" a dictionary.

By original poster's logic, we shouldn't have two great games in the same decade. If there are two great games coming then one have to "own" other.

No offence or anything, but the origional HL for PC was one of the best games ever made. I really dont think that they would make a huge step back and make a game that "wasn't fun." Possibly there are lots of bugs in the illegal leaked version you were playing? Also, things like zoom and such were implimented very nicely in the origional. Even if they didn't improve on these features they would be perfectly fine for the second version. I really don't see anything that even could be a problem with it. I personally plan on buying both, as they both look like they are going to be great games!

Doom 3 is probably one of the most immersive games ever. I'm sure Half Life 2 will be great but I'm gonna have to wait and see if it tops Doom 3 in terms of 'putting you inside the game.'
Man...I can't wait until Doom 3 makes it to Mac. And how long will it take to have a video card capable enough to run Doom 3 fluidly on that 30" monster cinema? Gawd, that would rawk.

...for posting an image that has been used hundreds of thousands of times on message boards all around the internet since the late 90s?
If anybody should be ashamed, it is you for not having the guts to come back into that iMac G5 thread and appoligize to all of the people you assaulted and admit you were wrong.

I say that to all the inconsiderate a$$holes that use that picture. You must be one of those kind of people that would jump off a bridge if everyone else was doing it....
And, apologize for being wrong!? Uhm, I was right! I said no G5 iMac at the WWDC, and I was right, end of discussion. I don't want to hear another word about it.

No, you said nothing about WWDC. You said '2004'.

Read the thread again if you wish.
You can say you don't want to hear another word about it all you want. But the fact of the matter is that you owe everybody in that thread that you lashed out an apology.

Well, it aint gonna happen.
I said no iMac at WWDC, and most likely none in 2004. I only said I was sure about WWDC though.
You people need to get off your high horses, especially now that you are a moderator... this is inappropriate behavior for a moderator.

This has nothing to do with being a moderator or not. You made a mistake, and you were very rude to many, many people. I am calling you out.

Well, I was obviously referring to the 2004 WWDC.
I don't think Apple has ever just up and released something without linking it to a Keynote. So, when I said 2004, I was referring to the 2004 WWDC.
And, we still don't know for certain that they will get that thing out when they say they will. The fact that they've had to make this announcement only shows that there are some sort of serious problems with the whole thing.
And, isn't this THE GAMING FORUM!? Why are you guys tracking me down to here? Isn't it pretty obvious that I am not participating in any other forums here for a reason?
And, again, as I've said before, there are certain reasons why I can't give more details.
PowerMacMan, I am calling you out, somehow someone was crazy enough to give you moderator powers, so grow up and learn how to act mature. And, quit following me around and bringing up old posts that have nothing to do with this thread, or even this forum.

And who are you to be calling me names?
If PowerMacMan were a REAL moderator, he would be deleting his own posts here, and all these other ones started around it. And, he should be warning Adam for his language and calling people names... I know I was warned when I called people much less harmful names than what Adam has just called me.
But, it's obvious that this forum is not about following any rules, but only revolved around what the "regulars" here think and believe. You guys should step back and look at yourselves from a real world point of view, and then see if you still have the right to act so "above" other people. I mean, come on, you've tracked me down to the freaking GAMING FORUM for god's sake, just so you can boost your dorky, attention needing, egos by talking down to me. It's okay, I can understand why you need to act so tough online... you probably get pushed around all day in school.
Now, leave me alone kids.

Where is the moderator in this thread?
Oh, there he is... provoking and guiding the fight along.
If it were in my forum, I'd have been splitting, quarantining, warning long before now. Ridiculous.

Kristoff - both of the pictures you've posted in this thread have been inappropriate. i've removed them. don't post them again.
PowerMacMan - there is no need to derail threads with personal grudges.
Ryan Becker - just admit your statement wasn't entirely accurate or get over it. you gain nothing but animosity from other members by continuing to claim you were right.
Adam Betts - watch your language. adding to this isn't helping.
If the thread starter wants to start another on this topic, please feel free to do so. The rest of you, feel free to keep it on topic this time.
