Hi everyone,
I recently purchased my first mac, a Rev. C 15" Powerbook with 512 meg ram and the 128 meg upgrade for the video card.
I play a few games (basically Blizzard games, Diablo II, Warcraft III, etc), and have noticed quite a bit of video lag. While I expect this to some degree in intensive areas of Warcraft III, I certainly don't expect it from Diablo II. The game could easily be run on a Pentium with a 16 meg graphics card.
I have tried closing all other applications while I play, and I also played in Single Player to ensure it is not just net lag, and sure enough, the game still visibly lags constantly during single player as well.
Does anyone have a tip to optimize my video card, or where I can get a better driver? I hardly expected my $2500 powerbook to lag in a 4 year old game.
I also tried turning down every video option, and to 640x480 resolution, with absolutley no help. The same lag occurs. In Diablo, characters and monsters flinch and lag. In Warcraft III, eveything lags about every 3-4 seconds.
Thanks,
Aaron

Sometimes setting your energy saver settings to "Maximum Performance" can help. Try that out. Also make sure you have the latest OS X update - should be version 10.3.5 in About This Mac. This is mostly an issue with 12" PowerBook owners, because 10.3.4 had a bug in one of the graphics drivers for the 12" PB, but it should help you out as well.
