Anyone have experience with this game?
http://secondlife.com/about/features.php
I love these types of games. After the Sims (which I no longer have) my quest to find a similar game has been fruitless
I'd be greatful for any comments ya'll may have about Second Life.

I heard it was awesome. People really love the scripting engine and they've created some really cool stuff. The developers offered me a free copy back in January at Macworld San Francisco but back then I did not have a Mac that was capable of running it.

Well, I realise I may not meet the minimum requirements but on my :
G4 Imac, 700mhz
32MB Gforce 2 mx
384MB ram
OSX 10.3.5
1.5mb ADSL connection
the game ran terribly.
Unplayable really. I think the concept is excellent, but youd better have a high end powermac with a decent graphics card to run it properly. Its a shame because I was quite excited about trying it.

It runs really slowly on my mac. It runs fine on my pc...hmm. The tools for creating objects in the game are in-game, which makes it really fun to make stuff. You can make something as simple as food, or a sign, to a store, or a bicycle, to a car or a house or a monument, etc. It's really crazy! The downside to this is that everything has to be streamed to you as you play and can cause some strange occurences. Aside from that it's quite fun.

After several weeks of play, this game is not much more than a fancier GUI to old fashioned cybersex. I think that is the main use of this game with the demographic that cater to. I have visited many many areas and while the concept is pretty cool and for FREE you can get into it and do a ton, there is a very adult theme going on and its a bit much at times.

This is an old idea. I played with something alot like Second Life like 8 years ago over a dial-up connection. It is still a cool idea. I guess the bandwidth and processing power just wasn't there before. Now this stuff is getting popular.
