i hear lots of people say lots of games dont get ported to osx because there directx and not open gl well my question is what are the chances of directx being ported to mac so its easier for games to get ported

From what I've read about the mac game porting houses, they all have libraries to make the conversion from direct3d/directx to open gl much less painful.

Yes, the problem isn't directx to opengl conversion, all MacOS X porting companies have code and libaries to do that conversion. One company even started selling their libraries. The problem is more specific to the way the game does networking. In some cases the networking code is almost impossible to port - as was the case in C&C:Generals, I believe, where you can't network between Macs and PCs.
