if immoral space marauding is your thing, you ought to look at Oolite.

it's an elegant homage to Elite, and much more than just OSX-only freeware and opensource, it's Mac splendour (and PC-envy).

in case you're unaware of the classic game, the historic context, and the superb concept of Elite..

Nice game. Played it a few months ago.
You can upgrade your ship by opening the save file with text editor; I needed those lasers!

yes, the "open hood" makes it dangerously easy to edit and customize stuff..

but v1.35 just out, has changed so much from the summer's beta.
the shipyard is now for sale+etc.

I see the uDevGames contest is still out for the vote.
Rescue is pretty special..
