Does anybody of you has ever played on a 1.ghz or higher Ibook UT 04 or some game of Battlefield? If so, how do you think it plays? Slow or good enough?

I played UT2004 when it first came out on my 933MHz iBook G4. Even with the bare minimum of specs, the game was playable. Just turn off the eye candy. I had the stock 14" with an extra stick of 512 MB ram.

You know, there IS a demo of UT2k4 available. Not only that, but it is actually updated on a regular basis to make sure performance is on par with the retail game. Download that before you buy the game.

Your desires are subjective, so the demo is a good idea:

Personally, I fins UT04 worth the money even on my eMac/700 which is BELOW specs. It can only handle small-to-medium maps/small player counts well, with details turned down, but with so many add-ons out there free to download, it's still a lot of fun.

And on my AlBook 1.25 it runs great with medium-to-high details at full widescreen res.
