I've played the demo and it's spectacular. How spectacular? So spectacular that I actually bought it! The corpses, when you kick them... Pure bliss.
A really good review here.

Thanks for the tip on the demo, this is a must buy! This game is great in a twisted way.

A few days before the Mac release I found the demo for Postal 2 on an old Maximum PC CD from July 2003.

Plus, that would have been for Postal 2, which was released for the PC in March 2003. The game that's just been released for the Mac is Postal 2: Share The Pain, which was originally released for Windows in December 2003, last updated with a patch in May 2004. So seven months isn't too bad... I wait for my copy of the game to get to me, then I might play it.

I also think the Mac version has a lot of things that weren't originally in the PC version. I think the entire multiplayer part is something that is fairly new for the PC version.

Postal was one of the first games I ever got for my first Mac back in 97. Very addictive and fun. I loaned it to some dude and never got it back, but that game and Command & Conquer for OS 8 and 9 were a lot of fun. To bad they did not make an OS X version of the first Postal, which was the overhead battlefield view like C&C. New Postal 2 is FPS style.
Just played the demo for Postal 2 and laughed my arse off. Urinating on people is a real hoot! Waiting for my copy to arrive. Can't beat the price.

Well, got Postal 2 and am not too thrilled. The original was a lot more fun. Wish they kept the original point of view. Not sure what they call that, the overhead view, like C&C. They had to go with the FPS type.
It is too hard for game developers to make games that are fun, with decent graphics, and reasonable hardware requirements? Postal 2 plays fine on my PB, but great graphics alone do not make a great game.

I have to admit: I think Postal 2 sucks. The framerate drops to nothing if you use fire (possibly a bug, but it was the same on the PC I tried it on), and there are way too many loadzones. The good part is the uniqueness of the game, and the slightly nightmarish feel of some of the people you meet, but you really can't do much. Just being able to talk to people, or do something other than shoot them, would have been nice.
