Hi all,

Now that I have some time on my hands over the holidays, I wanted to try out the Mac UT2004 demo. So I went to the website and started the download, which if you click here says is only 58 megs, while the PC version is 280 megs.

So I presumed it was a typo, and really was around 280 megs in size as well, and went ahead with the download.

Now that I check it (on the PC that I downloaded the file on), the file really is only 58 megs. So is this the whole demo? Or do I have to download something with it?

The newest demo is 200 MB - get it here:
http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=18034

And it's a GREAT game, with endless quantities of putstanding free add-ons. Maps, vehicles, weapons, characters, mods, mutators, new gametypes - even entire new commercial-quality games that are no relation to UT on the surface.

If your Mac can handle it, even with detail turned down and low playercounts, it's worth the money and more. It's like buying one game and getting hundreds.

Some links to start grabbing freebies are here:

I got it!

Thanks for the link, though.

This game is absolutely classic, and to my astonishment, looks incredible on my Powerbook! (1.5GHz, Radeon 9700, 512MBram)

Ah CTF Face Classic, how I love thee... I used to play UT CTF all the time on my PC and now I have a Powerbook, I can play UT2K4 on my Mac!

Onslaught is absolute genius!

If you haven't played this game and you have the bandwidth to get it, you should definitely try it out.
