Is anyone still having problems with NOLF 2? I finally started playing the game after waiting for the quicktime patch that actually lets the game launch. I've reached the "Proving Grounds"/ Curse of the Kali. After I rescue the last civilian Kamal says he's got information for me and it goes to a cut scene, however Kate never shows up in the picture. I emailed MacPlay support and they first asked me to apply the "patch" which I had already done (I couldn't even play it before that) then they told me it was a dual processor issue and had me turn off one of my processors. The was no difference. Their latest reply says it's a quicktime issue and to down grade my system to 10.2 NOT!

I haven't played in a while, but after the release of Quicktime that corrected the cut scene problem I was able to play it from start to finish with no problems.
Where in the game is "prooving grounds"? If its the level I'm thinking of, that's pretty far into the game. If you've been having cut scenes work until now, maybe the problem isn't the game itself but your copy - is the CDROM ok?

It is pretty far into the game. You have to save the civilians from the super soldiers. I haven't had any problem with cutscenes up til now. I guess I could have toast make a disk image to see if the disk has any problems. It's not scratched or dirty... Toast doesn't complain while making a disk image so I assume the disk is OK.

Hello,
We have found this issue to be related to Apple's QuickTime 6.4 - 6.5 update. The new version of QuickTime reads the wave files differently and affects how the game progresses from scene to scene, level to level. Users with OS 10.3 cannot downgrade QuickTime because 6.4 is built into the new the OS. There are no possible workarounds at the present time. We are currently working with the developers and Apple on this issue and will update our website as we make progress. All patch and game updates are broadcasted on www.macplay.com as they are developed.

Thank you for your patience

If you have 10.2, I would try that.

It seems fairly obvious this isn't a big problem and maybe something with my setup...
G4 DP 1.42
1 gig ram
Radeon 9000
OS X 10.3.7
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd sure like to get this $50 lemon behind me.

I played through to the end on my PB on 10.3 over a mix of sub-releases. I kept the OS and Quicktime up to date.
There was always the weird text-showing-as-squares issue the first time it was launched, but after that it was fine.
I had a blast playing it. I wish I could help you with your problem.
