I will soon have a BT-enabled powerbook (1.67MHz, 128 VRAM, 1GB RAM) and hope to do some gaming. I don't do a lot but could do some FPS games. Is a BT mouse just a bad idea for gaming?

Is there a reasonable USB mouse with a few extra buttons and a scrollwheel, not too pricey and okay for left=handers? (the logitech stuff is all for righties)
thanks

I use an AnyCom BTM-100 mouse, it has 800 DPI and can be charged via USB. Works great for me and I can't tell a difference between it and my regular USB mouse. I play games with it and have no problems whatsoever.

I originally had some issues with it losing connection when I had the Apple Wireless Keyboard on, but the latest firmware drivers from Apple fixed all that.

The only issue is battery life. Its rated for 20 hours of use, so if you get a Bluetooth mouse, make sure you get one that can be easily charged. The IOGear and AnyCom mice can be charged via USB and be used while charging, so they're the best picks in my opinion.

It sounds like you don't have any notable lag problems with games...do you play first person shooters?
Is your computer a machine that is just very fast, ie fast spinning hard drive like in a G5 tower or something like that?

Thanks

There is no lag at all with the mouse I'm using. For FPS I've played (on my Windows box) FarCry, Unreal, and Quake 3 all without any issues. On my PowerBook I've really only been playing World of Warcraft, which isn't an FPS, but uses a 3D first person perspective interface.

For reference, my Powerbook is the 1.5ghz model, and my Windows box is an AMD 1800. Neither are G5 tower class machines.

I have a Logitech BT MX900 mouse. it works great in games. I played quite a bit of UT2k4 and WC3 with it. Unfortunately, it is a bit frustrating to use for desktop work. Fine movements are sluggish. For some reason Logitech doesn't officially support this mouse on the Mac so you have to use the built in drivers. Battery life is horrible, but it does come with NiMH batteries and a charging base.

I use a Apple BT keyboard and it is wonderful.

My PB is a 15" 1.5 GHz Al with 1.25 GB RAM.
