Requirements say 1.5Ghz G5, but given your other specs I imagine it will run, if not at its best. That said, we still don't know how optimized the Mac port of this game is. For reference sake, my gaming PC, a P4-3.06 with a Radeon 9700 Pro and 512MB RAM ran the game at 1024x768, high textures, 2xFSAA, 4xAF at like 20 fps in combat, 30-40 fps walking around.
Be happy.

Actually I think the developer, Glenda Adams I think her name is, was using your same PB and that led them to drop the requirement from a 1.5GHz G5 -> a 1.5GHz G4. I seem to remember reading somewhere she said it is very playable on a fast PB.

Actually, they say 1.5Ghz G4:

http://www.aspyr.com/games.php/mac/d3/

Having said that, the current powerbooks are the bottom of the system requirements for the game. It will probably run, be ok in some parts, and become slow as molasses in others.

I will probably try it just for fun, but I wouldn't have high hopes of excellent gaming with this game on a PB.

Here is the thread Glenda Adams wrote the powerbook comment in:

http://www.insidemacgames.com/forum/...howtopic=18826

...her comment was:

"I've been playing Doom3 on my Powerbook 1.5 with 64MB of Vram and it's definitely playable (one reason we changed the specs!)- in some ways slightly better than the lowest end iMac G5 with FX5200. "

http://www.apple.com/games/hardware/

Apple lists Doom 3 (heck, they even have a picture of a 17" PB with Doom 3 on the screen) as a recommended game for the 1.67GHz PowerBook, with 128MB DL Radeon 9700M GPU. The 17" PowerBook exceeds all of the minimum requirements for Doom 3. It has 170MHz faster CPU, double the VRAM, a faster GPU and 512Mb DDR RAM (of course upgradeable). I would expect Doom 3 to run as good on the 17" PB as well as, if not better than the entry level PowerMac G5 PowerMacs. Of course, a 2.0GHz (or 2.5GHz) PowerMac with a nVidia 6800U or ATI X800 will enable substantially higher resolutions and AA and AF with little frame rate impact.

I would be VERY cautious about believing Apple on their site...they are grossly optimistic sometimes.
