I saw a post on the IMG forums where someone with a dual 2.5/6800GT saw improved frame-rates with one cpu turned off in CHUD. I didn't believe it to be true but decided to do a bench myself and low and behold at higher resolutions they do go up. My G5 benches at 1600x1200 went from 34.5 -> 38.4 and at 1920x1200 went from 30.4->37.1. I still don't believe it but it is true. Over at Ars someone with a 30" cinema and 6800 confirmed that even at that huge resolution he saw similar gains with the second CPU disabled. So far all the test that have shown this to be true have been 6800's, I wonder how the X800 does. If the X800 doesn't improve while disabling the other CPU then it could point toward a 6800 driver glitch, which would not surprise me. Anyone with a dual G5 and x800 wanna test it using CHUD to disable a cpu?

I did't a minor difference on my G5 2.0 and X800. I didn't have time to conduct an extensive test but I was averaging 60+ frames for the game on 2 cpus and now I was averaging 50+ with an occasional encroachment into the 60s with one cpu.

I used the default medium setting w/o any modification or changes in the advanced settings.
