hey there.

I just remembered a game i used to play on my pc called Lemmings,
I downloaded it, but i could only find a pc version for Windows.
Is there any way I can play this on my mac in OSX or classic?

the game is a .exe file, and there are also some .dll files in the folder as well.

any help would be muchly appreciated!

thanks!

This isn't the appropriate forum really, especially if you're talking about pirating software.

However, those are binary files which are specific to the platform they were created for (Windows in this case.) You can't run them natively on a Mac.

If you have Virtual PC you'd have to run Windows within that and then you could play the game. BOCHS might also work. BOCHS is freeware, https://www.ups.com/forms/e-mail/damage?loc=en_US , you could give that a try although I've never used it and its very slow so your game even though its old may not be playable unless you have a really fast Mac.

If you're looking for free old PCs game to try with BOCHS or VPC or DOSBOX, try googling for abandonware. There's several good sites that make really old games available for free. Many publishers are gracious enough to give permission to these sites to host and distribute these oldies.

There are Lemmings games for the Mac, but I don't remember if they run in OS X or not.

No, it's WAY too old. I remember playing it on a IIcx (16 MHz 68030). I don't know if it runs in Classic mode in OS X.

I know I've played it on my G4 iMac... so it either runs in OS X or Classic.

...I highly doubt I would've actually rebooted into OS 9 to check out Lemmings....
