<rant>

I've been looking forward to getting this game and it showed up today via amazon. Installed just fine, but the CD KEY doesn't work.

Yes, I tried all the possible visual permutations of O's and zeros, B's and eights, etc. before emailing Aspyr support, who I don't expect to get back to me within a day, let alone 5 minutes. No instant gratification for me

Looks like they finally came up with the ultimate copy protection: don't let anyone in.

Update:

Aspyr support got back to me with assistance - turns out that my cd key was missing several characters of the last string

Bravo Aspyr for the quick resolution !!

The duplicator messed up the initial run of serial numbers (they left off the last 4 digits). I don't know how they don't catch this stuff, we pay them enough to do it right the first time

Contact Aspyr support, and they'll fix you up with the missing digits. We're also working on a more automated way to let people get their serial number corrected.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Good to hear there's a solution to the problem, as I was planning on buying the game. Who doesn't dream of driving a AT-AT, X-wing, or Snowspeeder?

We've set up a special support page to let you get the missing serial number digits, just click here to get things fixed.

Thanks to Briareus and Aspyr for alerting everyone to the problem and providing a quick fix! I currently own Battlefront after looking in computer stores in Spokane, WA, Durham, NC, and Seattle, WA while on vacation over a period of a month. Now I have the game, but I can't play it until I can get home to a computer that meets requirements.

I am so glad that I found out about this problem before trying to install and think that after all the time waiting to get it, it wouldn't work. However, I've already copied down the rest of the CD key from Aspyr's website.

As I can't play for another few days, could anyone tell me how the gameplay is? It looks great in the instruction manual, but how does it look with a first generation iMac G5 (i think 512 or a gig of ram, 64 MB video card, 2 GHz, etc)? If anyone has a similar model, I would appreciate any info on graphics quality and speed! Thanks again!
