By the way if anyone is interested in MMORPG on Mac you can download the whole of Everquest Mac, and have a 15 day trial for free. And yes, Mac EQ is still alive. If you hate EQ then fair enough, but if you fancy a change then why not give it a go?

EQ Mac Download

Once the free trial has expired subscription is between $10 and $13 dollars depending on how many months you buy at once.

I don't flame people. I played the beta EQ for Mac. I actually went out and bought a PC just to play EQ, which I played for over 4 years. I was just disappointed that they are putting their effort into bringing the Mac community an "OLD" game when EQ2 is already out. It just felt like a slap in the face.

On the other hand, it was sort of cool running around all of the old zone on my Powerbook. I have many, many fond memories in the world of Everquest.

Let me know if there are any other good MMORPGs coming out. I did play WoW for a few months, but I found leveling via the exp grind tedious. After EQ I played Shadowbane for a year, which was a great game aside from the technical issues.

Good luck!

The strength of the EQ Mac server is the community and friendlyness. I've played a bit of EQ2, and the graphics are far superior, but the game play, tactics and diversity of the original EQ are very good, and I still enjoy playing it.

Of course once the Intel Macs come out Mac users will be able to play any of the MMORPGS by running VPC, dual boot Windows or WINE.

so... I tried to do this, but I found no way to get into the free part. I created my account, then I never recieved anything like a user/password that would allow a free trial. Seemed like a sham to me...

OMG! It appears the server has run out of keys, or bombed out for some reason!

I know a good few people who have gained keys - trust Sony to f**k up the page!

Hopefully they will get it working again soon :-(

Apparently its a problem with the Sony Store not a lack of keys. Sony CS Reps say it should work again now............

Worth a try I'd say.
