I just got a 30 inch display, and when I went to play my games, instead of being stretched to the whole monitor, they are being played at there res setting in the center of the screen. For instance, if the resolution in game is set to 800*600, instead of being scaled up to the screen, it is played in a 800*600 box in the center of the screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It happens when I tried to play Halo, C&C Generals, and C&C Generals Zero Hour.

This did not used to happen on my 20 inch LCD.

For fullscreen gaming your display's resolution and the game's resolution must be the same. Most games will do this automatically. For games without true widescreen support, you will end up with the image letterboxed in some fashion. . Dunno why C&C wouldn't. Check the ReadMe that is invariably around and see if it has any insights into this issue. You may be able to edit your prefs file using TextEdit and end up with 2560 x 1600 resolution in C&C. That's how I play Rise of Nations, and it is awesome to see such a huge chunk of map at one time.

Off hand, games that I know that run at 2560 x 1600:
Black & White
RoN (must edit prefs to get this resolution)
Nwn (must edit prefs to do this)
Doom 3 (frames rates drop off the face of the earth, tho)
EV Nova (i'm pretty sure)

I'm sure I've missed a few.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
