Hi!

Since we don't have Teamspeak/Ventrilo I was looking for alternatives. The Gizmo Project looks promising (free conference calling).

Has anyone tried Gizmo while running WoW? I'm curious if it has effects on latency like Skype. Please post your experiences.

Thanks

Does Skype cause latency problems? I just installed it the other day but hadn't thought to use it for gaming.

We've used Gizmo for some MC raids. It worked ok with about 8 people on, but beyond that it got a little choppy. THe biggest problem I had was chatter -- too many people talking about things other than the problem at hand. Although I suspect that would be a problem with any of these solutions.

But there were no latency or performance problems in WoW?
What Mac are you playing on?

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Does not seem to effect latency. However, I run WoW and Gizmo on two seperate machines, when I've run both on a Powerbook WoW seemed to take a FPS hit. /shrug

Neither Gizmo nor Skype have PTT, which pretty much negates the usefulness in large raids.
