patch 3369 is out, released 12-4-05
from description:
What's new in this version:
Patch 3369 contains several important fixes, but Mac users might be most excited about the availability of render-to-texture support (detailed shadows, motion blur, headlights, the DM-Morpheus scoreboard, etc). This requires Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later (but the game still runs on earlier releases as expected).
The package contains both the client and dedicated server. This will only patch the retail version (either the original UT2004 or the Editors' Choice Edition), and not the demo.

ahhhh, it's snappier!!!
really, it is... I should've done before and afters, but here are the Afters w/ SantaDuck (v2.0):
first listing is 800 X 600, second is 1024 * 768; both at minimum
DP 800 QuickSilver w/ 1GB & Geforce4 Ti /4600
11.074606 / 32.071522 / 57.730598 fps -- Score = 32.084007 rand[1602535000]
9.306012 / 31.630087 / 57.893589 fps -- Score = 31.642876 rand[1602535000]
don't know, but would guess seeing improvement dependent on 10.4.3 and video card to see it, but definite improvement! This game keeps getting better...amazing that my ol' QuickSilver keeps on chugging...not to say I wouldn't like an upgrade/new mac soon...
Enjoy.

In testing on my quad, the demos didn't show any difference between 3369 and the demo, 3334.

Hmmm, perhaps it is that your machine is so overwhelming to begin with...for my meager machine (lower than the recommended 867 minimum...) little changes make a noticeable difference.
I'd be curious what level video card it requires to take advantage of the stuff from their description in the original post. The GeForce 4ti is programmable to some extent (but isn't programmable enough to support core image...) so I wonder if the changes are greater for a core image compatible card?
Too busy to try and find/load earlier versions to test at present. Maybe over the holiday.

My GF bought me UT2004 for Christmas, and after installing I checked for updates. I downloaded the updater, but I keep getting the following error:
I've looked everywhere for an older update, but every link points back to the same file (9.3MB). I can't find an updater that will help me. Can anyone provide a link? TIA
