Is it possible to install Baldurs Gate and expansions from Windows CDs? I'm running OS 10.3.
I ask because if I remember correctly Neverwinter Nights is capable of being installed from Windows disks. I found Baldurs Gate and expansions at a store on sale for cheap (~10$) but they are on Windows CDs. Thanks for your help.

To my knowledge that's a no-go. Even if it was possible like it is with NWN, you're still technically pirating the Mac version of the game. (With NWN I can understand using the PC expansions, in this case it's literally JUST data files - a big zip on the CD - you're paying more JUST for an installer.) With the original NWN and with Baldur's Gate 2 and it's expansion there's a lot of porting work that was involved in making the Mac version that clearly deserves support.

Don't worry pirating is something different. Whether or not I choose to give my hard earned money for 10 dollar discount software and install it or play it, or burn it into a small ball of plastic and hurl it at some jerk in the IP department of a law firm is my business. I was asking about whether it could be done, the first part of your reply is appreciated.
Anyone else have input on whether it can be installed and if so, how? If you want to help then reply, if you want to engage in arguments on why these poor corporations have had it so rough then please don't bother to reply.

Whether or not it's piracy is actually fairly relevant considering that's a no-go topic here as well.

Heh. No, it's not something different. You'd have to pirate the Mac executable in order to make use of the PC data files, if it were possible. Just because you pay money does not mean you're abiding by license terms and the law.

The reason it's important whether or not it's pirating is because you can't discuss pirating on this board.
