Yes. Pretty much any wireless router would work. You could even use your laptop as a basestation. Plug in the cable modem or DSL into the computer and turn on Airport Sharing from Built-In Ethernet to Airport. If you did that you wouldn't even need a router.

no, the nintendo usb device cannot be used in macs, but if you have an airport card (which can be used in any mac) you don't need it since you can use software base station instead. turn on software base station, and then setup a new connection on the ds to the software base station -- just look at your game's manual for how to do this. Basically you just choose the name of your mac's software base station from a list and off you go.

And if your laptop lacks an AirPort card and you are having a hard time findinf one you can get one like this (how ironic from the maker of the Nintendo USB devce), please note it is not internal like the Airport card, it is aimed to use with the pc-card slot available in the PowerBooks.

Follow the pretty straightforward instructions on your Wifi Nintendo DS game to setup the DS, it's basically the same thing as configuring any computer for wireless access. You just need to know how the broadcasting device is configured, if you use a Mac for sharing the connection you can try to let the NDS automatically find and try to connect to it.

Anyway, read the manual as it's more clear than me and provides step by step instructions
