This is a bit of a rant, but I'm pretty upset about this.
I have both "The Incredibles" and "The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer", and both refuse to run when there are two monitors hooked up to the computer. THQ technical support confirmed for me that they "don't support dual monitors". Disconnect the external monitor (and, in my case, remove the card driving it), and all is good.
Then there's the fact that they just don't seem to "get" permissions - the game has to be installed and run by the same user, or it just doesn't work. No amount of permissions fiddling seems to fix that little issue.
I'd swear off THQ games alltogether, but they keep making titles my kids want to play. So I'm forced to deal with their poor products.
Of course, THQ isn't the only one. Zoo Tycoon 2 wouldn't run unless I mucked around with the permissions - that's what I get for not running as an Administrator all the time. Or letting my 7 year old. And Myst 3 would let the cursor wander out to the secondary monitor.
But Halo works fine. As does Doom 3. And Myst 4 and Myst 5 both sorted out all the problems. So clearly SOMEONE knows what they're doing.
If there's anyone at THQ within reach of my voice, hear this: try installing one of your games as an Administrator, and then run it as a non-Administrator user. Better yet, try installing as an Administrator, and then running as a "restricted" user, which is how Apple recommends setting up accounts for children.
And fix the darn dual monitor thing. That's just retarded.

Have you sent this to THQ?
A good question. I have been through the technical support with the issue; I haven't complained as strenuously to them about it as I have here.
Frankly, THQ's technical support is a little lacking anyway. Nowhere on their web site do they indicate they sell Mac games. When I fill out the support form, including all the details about my computer, the response email I get INEVITABLY asks me to repeat all the information I included in the form. And, last time around, they finally just told me they don't support dual monitors.
Crappy ports don't bother me as much as they used to; I'm a victim of lowered expectations. And, to be fair to THQ, the Spongebob the Movie Game ran with no problems. So, I suppose it is possible that THQ has fixed whatever they were doing wrong, but won't bother to fix the older, broken programs.

The Mac version of the Spongebob game was actually developed and published by a different company, Aspyr.
The company that did the Incredibles Mac port was bought by Activision, so I'm not sure how likely THQ is going to get the dual monitor support fixed for that game.
