I have a new MacBook Pro, and I decided I wanted to try playing some games on it. I thought this game looked like fun, and my old PC was too old to run it. It looks like a great game, but I'm having a problem with it. In a number of areas, walking doesn't work right. I either run in place, or uncontrollably zip across to the other end of the area, or just move in random directions. It is particularly bad in the cantina in the Taris upper city, but also happens outdoors in the upper city and in apartment buildings.

From my extensive internet searching, this seems to be a common problem for both windows and mac users, especially with ATI video cards. There are a couple of workarounds, but one (adding a line in an .ini file) seems to have no effect, while the other (using the OpenGL profiler to make the game use a different OpenGL driver) doesn't work because the game isn't Universal.

Anyway, my question is this. Is anyone with an intel mac able to run this game without the problems I've mentioned?

If not, I guess I'll just have to hope Aspyr releases a UB for it soon...

The PC port of KOTOR was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy buggy. A prime example of what's wrong with the PC gaming industry. I'm sure playing it on an Intel Mac doesn't help things either.

The Universal App version of KoTOR is probably waiting on a UB version of the Miles Sound Library like NWN.
