hi, I am planing on getting a macbook pro, I am money bound so I want the most out of my money. I was wondering between the 1.83 ghz version and the 2 ghz version which is better worth my money. I do want to be able to play games and I will be upgrading my ram also

I'd take the 1.83 with more RAM... keep in mind the video card is significantly underclocked, so you can't make an Apples (oh the pun) to Apples comparison with other laptops with the same video card.

And in case of better performance, there's always the ATIcellerator which might come in handy...
