Have you seen the revised PS3? It is bigger than the Xbox.

I think the Xbox 360 is pretty damn attractive.

I agree. I don't see how a dashboard update can't be created that would let us make a download queue. I don't care if it is downloading while I am playing games or during the night. It's ridiculous that something this small isn't a feature.

The Xbox GUI needs work in my opinion. It's rather clunky. I don't think it needs a lot of work, just some tweaks. It's not the most intuitive system.

I do think that the 360 is a good looking console, but the original Xbox is probably the worst console design of all time. That thing was horrid.

I originally thought it looked good till I saw how big the thing is. It's bigger than some PCs and doesn't even include an internal HD. Too big for my liking.

I'm guessing it won't stop working this time, like it did with all of my friend's PS2s. It only worked a few months with PS games, then refused to read those, then refused to read DVDs after another few months, and now has trouble reading any game disk.

What happened to indestructable game systems? I spilled a glass of wine directly on my N64, it also took a 6 foot plunge onto hardwood floors. Now you just play the damn things for two months and they start sh*tting the bed.

Pathetic, even my xBox is funky, I get a loading screen before the menu in Halo 2, and some other whacky error screens here and there. I have three broken xBox controllers (no, I don't abuse them) and 6 N64 controllers that work perfectly (albeit some are a little worn out).

I'd like to see next gen systems actually reflect their price with build quality. I am the type who saves everything I buy, I still have NES, and SNES and both are in great shape, original controllers still work fine too.

I'm trapped in a sewer with a confessed arsonist!

No, and it's one of the more frustrating things about downloading stuff. Not only do you get super slow download speeds, but you can only download one thing at a time, AND you can't do anything while your file is downloading.
So that is what they call 'live'… do you need to pay for such service?

No, everyone gets it for free. You just have to pay if you want to play against others.

The free service lets you message, download updates, trailers, game demos, classic games (pay per game) etc.

It's $7.99 a month or $49.99 a year. I think there is a 6 month price, but I can't remember it.

It's a neat service, I signed up last night for a month and if they keep the game demos coming I'll pay per year. Reviews and video reviews are great, but actually getting to try out the game before you buy it, is worth the ~$4 a month.

I have a few people in my office who are all on Live and I will add them as friends when I get home. I could send them messages and play games against them. Pretty cool.

You can keep getting the demos and stuff even if you don't pay. You only have to pay to play against other people.

"About a year ago Sony defended the PlayStation 3 by stating the PS3 is "a box made of future technology opposed to Xbox 1.5, which seems to be a combination of things available today." However, this week The Inquirer talked with several game developers and heard they aren't really impressed by the performance of the PlayStation 3. The performance isn't really there yet in many cases and they say that both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 don't have enough horsepower to run state-of-the-art PC games like Crysis. Game developers say they are disappointed because they aren't able to do what they've planned to do. "

If I had a nickel for every bad PS3 review I could afford one by now...

Hi, I'm new here. I was wondering why so much people dislike the PS3 so much? I mean, the specs are a lot better than any of the other consoles. Is it because it costs so much? Or do a lot of people don't like Sony and prefer Microsoft and Nintendo?

Of course. It's insanely powerful. If it were $399, people would be messing their pants over it.

Get this... Sony was demoing a game called Assassins: Creed for Sony Playstation. It was touted as a Playstation exclusive, and demoed as how superior PS3 graphics are.

Problem is they were demoing it on an XBox 360.

Yeah, it's overpriced... That's why I'm gonna wait til like 2010 . So it's $50. For now, I'll use my pretty decent windoze computer (Athlon 64 FX-57, 1.5GB DDR2, NVIDIA Quadro 4500)
