Hi, has anyone here had success installing "Sims 2 rev D update" on an Intel-based Mac running 10.4.6? I installed the Sims 2, then tried to update it (revision D adds Universal Binary support), but the rev D installer completely freezes my whole system. I have tried it several times.

My system: MacBook Pro 2GHz, 2GB Memory, fresh installation of Mac OS X.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I see the exact same freezing as you describe when trying to apply the Rev. D update to my copy of The Sims 2 on a MacBook running 10.4.6. I believe the installer itself is not a universal binary, which I thought was somewhat strange. Glad I'm not the only one. I've also seen this same freezing occur when trying to unrar a .rar archive with version 2.0 of UnRarX.

Update:

This problem was fixed by installing the Quicktime 7.1.1 update.

Oh, good to hear. I'll have to try the installer once again this evening.
