I'm expecting a MacBook (1.83 GHz, 80 GB hard drive, 1 GB memory) any day now, and I think I want to get Sims 2 for it.

I have the Windows version only at this point. Should I spend upwards of $50 for the Mac version? How is the quality of Sims 2 on a Mac? Or should I go through the whole process of Boot Camp and buying Windows XP and then installing Sims 2 through that?

Honestly, I'm hoping that Sims 2 for Macs is the best choice because it's the easiest for me, but if it doesn't perform very well then I'd like to hear about that too!

Well I have not tried it on the MacBook with its integrated graphics card but on the Mac Book Pro with the universal patch it orks great. Also the items on the website work for both the windows and the mac version.

Yeah; but make sure to get the universal patch update, even on a Macbook Pro its was really really jerky even on low settings. But after the patch it runs great. The game isn't terribly graphically intese so it should run fine.

However, I did pick up a Mac copy of the sims on eBay for about $40 shipped.

P.S. after my expiernece with the Sims 2 on Rossetta i've learned that any non Universal apps that are memory dependent are going to run like crap.
