Ok, my brother-in-law just got himself a MBP. He and I are old CS fans, but I want to give him a pick for the best FPS to run native on his new Mac.
What'cha think? I haven't been playing anything on my Mac because it's a lowly 800Mhz soccer ball and hasn't the muscle for anything interesting anymore. So you guys tell me.

Call of Duty 2 is a great one. with all the 3d shooters out there, COD still stands out somehow.

Like I said, "native." We didn't put on Boot Camp and probably won't.

Well, Windows does run "native" on the MBP.
You wanted to say native on Mac OS X.

Quake 4, Doom 3, COD2...
If you want good FPS you're probably better off installing Boot Camp and going with HalfLife2 and F.E.A.R. UT2007 is coming soon and so is the next version of FarCry, said to have a loaded next-gen engine.

All those cost money. One of the BEST fps experiences is totally free: Enemy Territory. It's basically like Half Life, only it's based on the Return to Castle Wolfenstein engine.... it should run smooth as silk on a MBP, and it's INCREDIBLY addictive.

Yep, like the free halo demo.
I play it at work quite a bit, most servers have figured out how to hack it by now so you've got all the weapons/vehicles/game modes, it's pretty fun. BTW, if anyone else plays often, my name there is the same here. Say hi to me. As you die.

I just finished Call Of Duty 2. Awesome game. Ran perfect on my system. Intense as hell game play. Can't say enough good things about it. Playing Half Life 2 now through bootcamp. Runs perfect too.
