Okay.. I was crusing Apple's web-site looking for some great games for my new iMac when it gets here. Now.. I'm looking at buying all the Sims 2 Games. Since I have them on my PC.. My question is..

The software recommendations for the game is:

*Video card: ATI Radeon 9000 or later or NVidia GeForce FX5200 or later*

The new intel duo iMac has a:

*ATI Radeon X1600 graphics with 258MB GDDR3 memory*

How the hell am I suppose to tell if this game will work.. To me... lower number means older graphics card???? Help Please...

Just imagine the X at the front of X1600 as a 10. So it would be 101600, which is bigger than 9000.

Well, we can forget about the game issue I have. LOL.. I was just told by an Apple Sales person, that if the game is not marked "UNIVERSAL", it will not play right on the new Intel iMac's.. They say the game will run slow and sluggish. How sad...

Depends on the game, but it's possible.

All of the best games are universal anyway.

Which game? We could give you an idea of how likely it is the game will be universal at some point in the future.

Quake 4 is already universal, and the Sims 2 has a universal patch. Never heard of that last one though.
