My ten year old son was over the moon when I found the VisualBoyAdvance, as he has problems holding a gameboy. I found all the pokemon games that work with the VisualBoyAdvance and he was hooked right away,

After playing for over 6 hours solid, he became tired and attempted to save the game. He did all the normal stuff to save, but alas when he attempted to load the game, there was nothing there!.

I havn't seen my son so happy in ages, then to see him so upset I was heart broken.

Can anyone suggest what we could do to ensure his games are saved? I've looked at the VisualBoyAdvance FAQ's and can find nothing. Any help and advice would be welcomed.

I don't know about that emulator specifically, but many have problems saving games the traditional way. Instead, I'd suggest that at the end of his gaming marathon, he freeze the game. On the VBA, it's either Command-F or "Options>Freeze Game State".

Ten years old and playing for over six hours?, whoa, such a gamer !

And I would do copies of those freezed game since it is easy to mistake the keys aimed to freeze and defrost your current game.

Do you have 'Battery Saves' and 'Save States' folders inside your VBA folder?, saved games go there.
