Is it possible?

I'm not interested in the latest & greatest 3D games out there.

What about Command & Conquer I & II? Starcraft? Age Of Mythology etc

Are they available? Will they run? Am I wasting my time?

There is no Command & and Conquer I & II for the Mac. Command & Conquer: Generals and Zero Hour exist and probably will play until you start throwing rockets and scuds around.

C&C 1 did exist for Mac -- I have a copy somewhere. It won't run without Classic though, so that rules intel Macs out.
What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I wasn't counting MacOS 9 games as I haven't run MacOS 9 for years. But yeah, there was a C&C game for MacOS 9 wayyy back in the days of old.

Starcraft should work. You can't install right off the CD (which is a really old version for OS 9), but Blizzard has a Carbon installer for the game on their site that should work.

Well, you don't need to actually run MacOS 9 to play MacOS 9-games, you know.
C&C 1 requires some lib tweaking to run correctly, that's why I probably never played it through.

This would be a great game if Westwood would only update it for modern Macs! This game originally was released in 1996! Westwood Studios totally ignores the Mac platform and is downright hostile toward Mac users! This is a a really fun game, I have even written some of my own scenarios, it rocks! But you have to use older versions of Game Sprocket (1.1.2) it does not run well (crashes a lot) with the newer version (1.7.5).
