Hi all,
Im not sure if this is the right forum, but it is games related...
Im new to mac, have just got a macbook. Id really like to play lemmings on it, but it needs an older OS.
Is it possible to run older binarys on OSX?

cheers

i have lemmings 1 on my 14 year old acorn 4000. great game.

i dont think you can run it on your macbook. even though there might be OS7 versions of the game, you wont be able to play them on youre macbook as it doesnt support classic anymore.

There are slightly less ancient versions that could be emulated with windows in parallels.

On a side not, I played that game off of 5-1/4s. It was the $|-|!7!!!1

check out emulation.net: Emulators for Mac OS and Mac OS X... Lemmings might run in an older Mac emulator... some of the Mac emulators have been recompiled as universal binaries and since Lemmings doesn't need a fast processor or video card it would likely run well under emulation.

I'm playing Lemmings in an Amiga emulation right now. Runs well. (Sound's a bit choppy, but it's probably fixable.)

What I'm using:

1. This emulator:

http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/e-uae-...sx-ppc_sdl.zip

(There's a slightly newer version here: http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/e-uae-...sx-ppc_sdl.dmg )

2. SDL runtime library:

http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.11.dmg

3. Configuration editor from:

Daniel Pimley's Projects

4. Kickstart ROM and Lemmings from:

Amiga Power - Amiga Emulation - Amiga Games - The Good Old Days
