I have managed to download a game dmg. I click it and it mounts and I can play the game no problem.

When I copy the contents of the mounted file into the Applications folder and try to play the game, it asks me to insert a CD. Why is this? Is there a difference running the game mounted or installed?

I'm such a MacNoob.

You want help with pirating a game? I think not.

The DMG circumvents the copy-protection by making the game think the CD is in the drive.
