Mods, of course you're free to move this to Alternative if you feel it's better suited there.

My 2.0 Ghz Intel imac, 2GB RAM, is running UT (using BootCamp & WinXP SP2) very strangely. It is very jerky and very fast. I'm using the -cpuspeed=xxxx" switch I found that makes Win lappies behave, but I've got it cranked up to 4000 just to make it behave.

The mouse jerks around, movement is jerky. At 4000, it's very slow but controllable but still jerky movement.

Anyone else see this? If so, how did you fix this?

I've searched (everywhere) and all I found was the laptop fix so I'd appreciate any and all..even the odd and bizarre (not such a large feat around here .

TIA.

UT was always kind of like that. Try turn down mouse sensitivity?

This might be stupidly obviously, but have you tried without the cpuspeed option?

1. The speed is not dependant on mouse sensitivity..but I'll try that..good idea

2. Yes. My mouse flies to a corner of the screen and I can't move it.

But thanks for the responses. Something, however odd, might turn out to help. So thanks

What version of UT? Have you tried changing from Direct 3D to Open GL etc.

SeanC. No I hadn't. I'll give it a try. Thanks for suggestion.

Later - All it took was Win98 compatibility mode. I hate Windows.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm betting the OS X port of UT would run fine in Rosetta.

I wish I had UT for my Mac. I've never been able to find/buy the UT disks for OS9 or earlier
