I really don't want to be angry at Blizzard, but I am very disturbed by the new PvP system. I am a casual player with a low level main toon, but I have been playing more recently. The thing that really drove me to play the game was leveling my rank in the Battlegrounds. That may sound stupid, but it really made the game significantly more fun for me. I didn't realize from the notes that there are no more ranks whatsoever, and the only thing you have left is the highest one you attained, which you can display as a title. Battlegrounds have lost a lot of their appeal for me now. I realize you can buy things with your honor marks now, but I don't understand why the rankings had to go away completely. Now my toon is stuck at Knight FOREVER. I think Blizzard's ruined my gaming experience.

This change was actually meant for casual players, so they'd have some chance to compete for the BG rewards. I think they are planning to reintroduce ranks for the arena system. Basically, they decided (and I kind of agree) that it was weird to have a system that was half competitive and half grind-based like battlegrounds were. That led to people needing to spend way more time than is healthy to compete. So they divided it up. Now the battlegrounds are purely a points-based system, and the ladder system has been moved to the arenas.
