As the weather is going to become bad up here in Michigan, I was going to purchase a some strategic game - something along the lines of Starcraft - you know- money (minerals)-> stronger weapons world domination. I was wondering about age of empire III vs civilization. any feedback or perhaps other suggestion?

i played em both, i personnaly would go for the aoe3 because it's much more fun, as for civilization, it's ok i guess (i only say this because i can't stand turn based games)...

Personally, I like AoE 2 more than AoE 3, but buy AoE 3 because it is newer and has more stuff.

Rise of Nations was a fun one as well; I like how you don't really run out of resources which makes for some longer gameplay.

Age of Empires 3 hands down. But get Civ IV too. It's a lot of fun.

My kids, grandkids and I like Battle for Middle Earth II (plus the Witch King Expansion) and we just got Company of Heroes. Both are great if you enjoy RTS games.

Of course, both require Bootcamp which will run nicely on your MacPro.

The 7300GT will not let you turn up all the graphics but it sure beats my Macbook's GMA950.

Cheers,
